Assign Image Icons to Categories

Learn how to update category block image icons in your Zendesk theme by uploading custom SVG, PNG, or JPG files through the theme settings.
  • Open Theme Settings > In your Zendesk Guide, navigate to Guide AdminCustomize Design and open your published or draft theme
  • Go to the categories option > You can see the custom image icon option > Just tick/enable this option > Save
  • Go to the image (now, this time you can use an SVG image) > Just rename the image category-CategoryID (example : category-360001234567)
  • After renaming the image, just upload the image to the assets
  • The uploaded SVG image will automatically be displayed in the selected category

How to find Category ID

  • Open your Help Center in a web browser
  • Navigate to the category you want to edit
  • Look at the URL in your browser’s address bar
  • The number immediately after /categories/ is the Category ID
  • Example: https://yourcompany.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/360001234567-Getting-Started
    • In this example: Category ID: 360001234567
